Women playing sports is no longer out of the ordinary. We indeed have come a long way. From three generations ago, when relatively few women chose to participate in sports, to the wider opportunities available to female athletes today, times have changed. As Kathy Smith relates in Up Front, today’s elite athletes are the embodiment of true athletic spirit.
